Safety Net

Financial lifelines and counseling are critical in helping youth weather economic ’shocks’ that can quickly spiral, derailing dreams of graduation and a stable, well-paying job. As such, NYFC provides one-time safety net support to young adults who have aged out of foster care including young parents and those not necessarily in school to help get them back on a stable track. We are also integrating financial literacy and budgeting planning as a requirement to receive an Emergency Grant. Coupling one-time financial support with budgeting and financial literacy, NYFC helps keep youth on track towards stable, independent adulthood.
