Alan Yu
Yeymi Hoffmans
I joined NYFC in September 2016. As Senior Director of Finance and Administration, I’m responsible for the overall financial management of the organization, including establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 15 years in the fiscal management space, including as VP of Budgets and Grants of the National Urban League. I received my MBA from Long Island University and my BA from Bernard Baruch College.
Ellen Ampofo
I joined NYFC in February 2020. As Senior Director of Programs, I’m responsible for providing day-to-day oversight of NYFC Signature Programs and leads program planning and implementation for pilot initiatives. Before joining NYFC, I worked for over 14 years in the field of higher education and youth development. This included a position as Director of Edgies Teen Center and College Prep Program at Educational Alliance, and as the Youth Academic Advisor here at NYFC and at SUNY Buffalo State. I received my BSc in Social Work and my MSc in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from SUNY Buffalo State.
David Mutton
I joined the NYFC team in April 2024 and am responsible for fundraising, communications, and marketing. Prior to coming to NYFC, I spent six years at Citizens’ Committee for Children of New York, a child advocacy organization, doubling their foundation income stream. I also worked for nine years at The Moth, a non-profit arts organization, where I helped exponentially increase the organization’s contributed income streams and contributed to its rise as an international cultural phenomenon. I hold a BA in History and an MA in Understanding and Securing Human Rights.
Alison Yee
I joined NYFC in September 2023 as the Manager of Youth Programs. In this role, I oversee and support with all aspects of youth programming, including our newest program, Cohort Connection. Prior to working at NYFC, I was a Program Manager at iMentor, where I oversaw a mentorship program at an international high school while providing post-secondary support to students. Before moving from California in 2019, I worked at KIPP SoCal, where I managed and oversaw college access programming for high school students. I received my BA in Cognitive Psychology and my Master of Social Work at the University of Southern California.
Cecile Johnson
I joined NYFC in March 2024 as the Manager of Youth Programs. In this role, I oversee and support with all aspects of youth programming including The Nicholas Scoppetta Scholarship Program, The Youth Advisory Board & Peer Mentorship, The Spirit Award, Emergency Grants, Network to Success, and The Financial Empowerment Fund. Prior to working at NYFC I was a Program Manager at Read Ahead, where I managed their Reading Mentorship program including various school-wide projects at two elementary schools, while recruiting and onboarding students and mentors. I am also a LP-Mental Health Counselor and bring a wealth of experience in providing individual and group counseling, addressing diverse mental health concerns. I received my BA in Psychology at La Salle University in Philadelphia and completed my MA in Mental Health Counseling at The City College of New York. I am proficient in various evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Natille Nicholls
I joined NYFC in November 2021 as Finance and Administrative Associate. In my role, I am responsible for assisting in financial and administrative functions in the Finance Department. Prior to joining NYFC, I worked with Wunderman Thompson as client Accounting/Finance Coordinator for 15 years. I received my BA in Accounting from Brooklyn College.
Andrea Gordon
I am Andrea Gordon currently employed at New Yorkers for Children in the capacity of Back to School, Finance and Administrative Associate.
I joined NYFC over a year ago, giving support to the Finance and Administrative Team (Yeymi Hoffmans and Natille Nicholls), and overseeing the execution of the Back-to-School Program.
Before joining NYFC I engaged in different professional areas including Healthcare.
I am a graduate of the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica W.I.
My goal is always to give of my best despite the circumstances.
Isabel Traore
I joined NYFC in January 2024. In my role as Program Associate, I oversee NYFC’s intermediary programs, the Post-Permanency Support Program and the Small Grants Program. Prior to serving at New Yorkers For Children, I worked in public administration for the State of Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners and volunteered as Program Director for SNACC, Inc., a local NYC nonprofit focused on improving food security and youth outcomes through virtual cooking lessons and grocery deliveries. I received my Master of Public Health from Drexel University and received my BS in Public Health from the University of Arizona.
Jasmyn Castro
I joined NYFC in August 2024 as a AmeriCorps Communications member. In this role, I help build the capacity of the organization through compelling marketing materials and developing tools to measure audience engagement. Prior to this, I worked at a radio station as a social media manager, where I was responsible for creating engaging content for social media channels, interviewing local music artist, and redesigning the website. I bring a background in content creation and digital strategy, with a focus on reaching and connecting with diverse audiences.
