New York Giants’ Keith Bulluck to be Honored at the NYFC 2010 Fall Gala

New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) announces that newly signed All-Pro Linebacker for the New York Giants, Keith Bulluck, will be honored with the Nicholas Scoppetta Child Welfare Award at the NYFC 2010 Fall Gala for his work with youth in foster care. The NYFC Fall Gala benefitting youth in foster care in New York City will take place on September 21st at Cipriani 42. Past honorees include Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mary J. Blige, Geoffrey Canada and Russell Simmons.

NYFC is proud to announce that our first three Guardian Scholars graduated this past week from New York City’s Hunter College and John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Sha’Rhone F. graduated from John Jay College on May 27 and Jessica M. and Basilia V. graduated from Hunter College on June 3.

NYFC Youth Advisory Board volunteers at NAC Kids Olympics

On Saturday, June 19, 2010, New Yorkers For Children’s Youth Advisory Board (YAB) volunteered at the face painting booth for children with severe disabilities at the 5th Annual New Alternatives for Children (NAC) Kids Olympics. Larry Harris, Nicole Esposito, and Arlenis Sosa were on hand to show their support. Over 600 NAC children and family members participated in activities including relay races (with and without wheelchairs), rock-climbing, soccer and gymnastics at Chelsea Piers.
Prada Hosts Cocktail Event to Celebrate NYFC 2010 Fall Gala

On May 20, 2010, Prada hosted a private cocktail reception at its Madison Avenue boutique in celebration of the upcoming NYFC 2010 Fall Gala, which will be held on September 21st.
Youth For Yoga

On Monday, March 29,2010, New Yorkers For Children Youth Advisory Board and Friends Committee members gathered at Exhale Spa to host the first ever Youth For Yoga event to benefit younger children in foster care in New York City. More than 25 youth in foster care (ages 7-10) and 10 Youth Advisory Board members participated in the yoga class, which was led by an instructor from Yo-Yoga.
